What insurance do you take?

HMSA (or BCBS, Anthem, etc.), UHA, VA Community Care, CHAMPVA, TriWest, Tricare, Out of Network

Can we still work together if I’m not dealing with PTSD or chronic pain?

Yes! While I specialize in working with those who have endured trauma or chronic pain/illness, many of my clients have different concerns like depression, anxiety, insomnia, career concerns, and stress.

Do you have any early morning or evening availability?

I do have a limited number of session times outside of business hours on weekdays.

Do you see clients on weekends?

Not currently, though many of my colleagues do and I’d be happy to connect you if you need weekends!

Do you provide services exclusively to military-affiliated clients or do you also work with civilians and local residents?

We serve a diverse clientele including locals, civilians, and those affiliated with the military. Many of our clients are deeply connected to both Hawai’i and the military.

What if I’m struggling with thinking about hurting or killing myself or someone else?

Suicidal or homicidal ideation is much more common than many realize. If you tell me you’re dealing with that during one of our sessions, we’ll make something called a Safety Plan. Your safety plan will help you stay safe in between our sessions.

As always, if you’re experiencing an emergency or mental health crisis outside of a therapy session, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency department, or call 988 (veterans press 1).

Is it okay to talk about my spirituality or religion in therapy?

Absolutely. While I cannot provide spiritual or pastoral counseling, many of my clients identify with a specific religion or spiritual practice and talk about it in session.

Do you see Queer or LGBTQIA+ clients?

Of course!

Do you see couples, families, or children?

I currently only see individual adult clients, though many of my clients are also in couples counseling or are parents to children in therapy.
